Can Christianity and politics mix?
Christians throughout history have responded to politics in different ways. In our modern era, it can seem like Christianity and Republican politics are one and the same. But what do we do when the Bible clashes with our political party? What if our economic model leaves no room for the poor?
Author and theologian Kaitlyn Schiess joins us to talk about her book, “The Liturgy of Politics“, as well as how we can heal as a church. Can Christianity and politics mix? The answer depends on how we see that pairing.

This was my favorite episode of truce so far. I like the conversational format as well. Kaitlyn is brilliant! More of her and more like this please.
Thanks for listening! She’s a brilliant person. I don’t generally do a lot of conversational interviews because so many other shows do that, but I do enjoy them from time to time. I like the highly-produced episodes because they allow me to explore complex topics and fact-check things, rather than asking people to shoot from the hip. I also get nervous chasing Christian celebs for interviews, which is incentivized with conversational formats. I prefer the wonder and surprise of getting an audience interested in something they never thought about before.
